The Elephants And The Mice : Moral Stories For Kids

Once there lived a group of mice under a tree in a hole. But once a group of elephants came that way and destroyed the homes of all the rats as a result of which many of them were crushed to death. Then the king of rats decided to approach the elephant chief and request him to guide his herd through another route. The elephant king agreed to this and took another route to the water. And so the lives of the rats were saved. One day a group of elephant-hunters came and trapped the group of elephants in huge nets. Then the elephant king suddenly remembered the king of the rats. He summoned one of the elephants of his herd which had not been trapped, to go and contact the king of rats. On listening to the elephants roar, the rat king took his entire group of mice and they cut open the nets which trapped the elephant herd. So the elephant herd was totally set free. Moral: A friend in need is a friend indeed.

Once upon a time there lived an elephant in a village. There lived a tailor in that village too. They became friends. The elephant used to a river for a bath. After drinking water and taking a bath it would pass by a tailor’s shop and the tailor would give it something to eat. One day the tailor was in angry mood due to quarrel with his one of the customer. The elephant came as usual to give thanks to the tailor. Instead of giving any thing to eat, he pricked the elephant’s trunk with his needle. The elephant felt agonized with pain. He made up his mind to teach a tailor a lesson. He went to the river, had his bath and then filled up its trunk with muddy water. He stopped at the tailor’s shop and throw in all the muddy water on the garments in the shop. The clothes were spoiled with mud. The tailor suffered a great loss. He felt sad for his misdeed. But it was too late. Moral: tit for tat.

Once upon a time, there was a dense forest bank if a river. In this forest, there lived many wild animals. There lived a big elephant who used to get angry on small issues and he underestimated all the other small animals. He was always doing something to show off his strength. Once a young man was passing by a street where he saw an old man sitting on road side begging for money. That old man was sitting there with an empty bowl in kept in front of him and a card board sign was kept beside that empty bowl. On card board cut out it was written: “Blind – I am hungry..!!” Young man noticed that despite it was rush hour and many people were passing by that old man yet no one was giving him any money. Young man felt very bad that no one was helping that old man or giving him any money. So he went to that old man and took his card board in his hand. He then took out a thick marker pen out of his pocket and turned the cardboard sheet back-to-front and re-wrote the sign then went on her way. One day she was going to the market carrying milk in a pail on her head to sale the milk.  As she went along, she began calculating what she would do with the money she would get for the milk. "I'll buy some fowls from Farmer Brown," said she, "and they will lay eggs each morning, which I will sell to the parson's wife. With the money that I get from the sale of these eggs, I'll buy myself a new princesd frock and a chip hat, and when I go to the market, won't all the young men come up and speak to me!
